Topshop is returning to UK high streets this week in a major partnership with John Lewis. The fashion brand will launch across all 32 John Lewis department stores on Tuesday, marking its first widespread physical retail presence since 2021.

John Lewis will stock 130 of Topshop's most popular pieces, including signature denim items, both in stores and online. Sister brand Topman will be available in seven John Lewis locations and on digital platforms.

The launch represents Topshop's comeback to brick-and-mortar retail after its former owner Arcadia collapsed into administration in 2021. Asos subsequently acquired the brand and sold products exclusively online until Topshop returned to physical retail last year with a launch at London department store Liberty.

Strategic expansion

The partnership marks a significant step in John Lewis's transformation plan. The department store chain is investing £800 million long-term across its stores and introducing 14 new fashion, jewellery, and accessory labels for the spring/summer season.

Peter Ruis, managing director of John Lewis, said: «This moment marks a significant acceleration of our fashion ambition at John Lewis.» He added: «To be the exclusive home of an iconic brand like Topshop, sat alongside other exciting new brands, signals our commitment to be the definitive style authority on the British high street.»

Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop, emphasized the accessibility factor: «Today is about making it easier for customers to access the Topshop and Topman pieces they love.» She continued: «From our cult denim to new‑season footwear, you can see it, feel it and take it home the same day.»

The launch coincides with London Fashion Week and will be followed by a takeover of Piccadilly Circus in London and other activations across the UK. John Lewis has also redesigned the fashion floors at its Oxford Street flagship store as part of its broader fashion strategy.
