Multiple rail disruptions are causing widespread travel chaos across major London stations during the morning rush hour. St Pancras, Blackfriars, Victoria and several other key transport hubs are experiencing significant delays and service suspensions.

All lines between St Pancras and Blackfriars remain blocked due to an ongoing investigation into a rail problem. Trains running between these stations face delays of up to 20 minutes until 10:00.

A safety inspection at Lee station is disrupting services between Sidcup and Hither Green until 12:00. A 20mph speed restriction has been implemented while inspections of a potential track defect are carried out, affecting routes from Gravesend to London Charing Cross and London Cannon Street circular services.

Airport connections severely disrupted

Safety inspections of track in the Earlswood area have blocked some lines towards Redhill. Major routes to Victoria, London Bridge and Gatwick Airport are experiencing delays until 10:00.

Severe congestion on the M4 spur between junctions 4 and 4A is affecting access to Heathrow Airport. Delays of up to 10 minutes are expected until 8:45, with moderate congestion also reported on the M25 clockwise at junction 10 until 8:15.

Underground and suburban services affected

The entire Piccadilly line is experiencing delays due to earlier trespassers on the track at Chiswick Park. The Standard reports that part of the District line is also suspended between Parsons Green and Wimbledon due to a track fault at Wimbledon Park.

Minor delays are affecting the DLR due to an earlier faulty train at Shadwell. Services from Poplar to Bank, Canary Wharf to Shadwell, Westferry to Tower Gateway and West India Quay to Canary Wharf are experiencing delays, though there is good service on the rest of the network.

A door fault on a train at Wimbledon is causing disruption towards Clapham Junction. South Western Railway services may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised until 9:00, with tickets not currently accepted on London buses.

The Standard also reports that theft of signalling cables in the Wigan area is affecting some long-distance services to London Euston, adding to the widespread transport disruption across the capital.
