Jadon Sancho's potential exit from Manchester United is in jeopardy despite Roma agreeing a transfer fee with the club. The winger's salary demands are proving to be the major stumbling block in completing a move away from Old Trafford.

Roma have agreed a €23million (£19.8m) deal with United for Sancho's services. However, the Serie A club cannot match the player's current wages of £250,000 per week, which amounts to approximately £13million annually.

The Italian giants have attempted to convince Sancho to accept a five-year contract to spread the financial commitment over a longer period. The former Borussia Dortmund player has yet to agree to those terms.

Alternative Options

Besiktas have emerged as another potential destination for the England international. Club president Serdal Adali expressed his enthusiasm for securing Sancho's signature before the transfer deadline.

"Just as much as the community wants him, I want him too," Adali told Turkiye Today. "What matters is not only our desire, but also if the player wants to come to Turkey. We have a budget, and we will do our best to bring him here."

The Turkish club president acknowledged the challenge of competing with Champions League clubs for Sancho's services. "Players like Jadon Sancho usually prefer clubs playing in the Champions League. Whether it happens today or not, it is hard to say. If it is possible, we will get him. Besiktas fans can rest assured."

United Situation

Sancho has fallen out of favour under new manager Ruben Amorim and appears to have little future at the club. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but the Blues opted not to pursue the expected £25million permanent deal.

Roma's pursuit comes amid their own Financial Fair Play constraints. A Roma manager recently highlighted these limitations, saying: "We must see what we can do from now to the end of the transfer session, because everyone knows the Financial Fair Play situation."
