Teen fights for life after north London shooting

A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being shot in north London. The teenager remains in a critical condition in hospital following the attack.

Police were called to reports of a shooting on High Road, Arnos Grove, at 5:04pm on Thursday. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before rushing him to hospital.

Police investigation underway

Detective Sergeant Catherine Dempster is leading the investigation into the shooting. She said the incident would have caused "shock and concern" in the local community.

"We recognise the shock and concern this will have caused the local community in Arnos Grove and are working at pace to identify the perpetrators," Dempster said. She stressed that police cannot solve the case without public assistance.

Appeal for witnesses

Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in or near High Road, Arnos Grove around 5pm on Thursday to come forward. Police particularly want to hear from people who heard gunshots or have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area.
